2. Climate Justice and Sustainability

Climate crisis is not just an environmental issue — it’s a matter of justice, equity, and empowerment. Women Students Mentorship Association (WOSWA), Climate Justice pillar champions the leadership of young women and students in building a greener, fairer, and more resilient future. We work to ensure that women’s voices are heard and their knowledge valued in shaping climate solutions that protect people and the planet. Through advocacy, innovation, and education, WOSWA bridges the gap between sustainability and social justice, turning awareness into meaningful action.
Our focus areas include:

a)Climate Education

Women Students Mentorship Association (WOSWA) is integrating environmental awareness into schools and surrounding communities. The initiative nurtures a generation of environmentally conscious and proactive young leaders within learning institutions and equips them with knowledge on climate change, sustainable living, and eco-friendly innovation, empowering them to take part in local climate action.

b)Fruit Forests Initiative

Women Students Mentorship Association (WOSWA) is promoting regenerative models for food and nutrition security while enhancing biodiversity conservation in schools and learning institutions through the Fruit Forests Initiative. WOSWA encourages the establishment of small-scale, diverse orchards within schools and surrounding communities — integrating fruit trees, indigenous plants, and herbs.

c)Green Tech, Green Skills and Zero Waste

Fostering innovation and digital solutions for a low-carbon future through capacity-building workshops, WOSWA equips students with green and digital skills — from renewable energy literacy and circular economy practices to sustainable design and eco-entrepreneurship.
Under its Zero Waste Campaigns, WOSWA promotes responsible consumption and waste reduction on campuses through recycling drives, upcycling challenges, and awareness sessions on zero plastic waste.
WOSWA redefines climate leadership — empowering young women to be drivers of environmental transformation and champions of climate justice in higher learning institutions and their communities.
Support Our Work We call upon you to support our climate action and education campaigns. Your contribution helps us nurture a generation of young feminist climate leaders and expand our green initiatives across schools and communities.
