4.Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)

At Women Students Mentorship Association (WOSWA), we believe that bodily autonomy — the right to make decisions about one’s body, health, and future, is a cornerstone of equality and freedom. As a Generation Equality Forum Commitment Maker and Accountability Champion on Bodily Autonomy and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, WOSWA stands at the forefront of advancing the rights, dignity, and agency of young women and girls across campuses and communities. Our SRHR work goes beyond access to health services. It’s about transforming systems, challenging stigma, and creating spaces where every student can live, learn, and lead free from fear, shame, or discrimination.
Our Focus Areas

a)Menstrual Justice and Rights

...
We champion menstrual equity by advocating for access to affordable, sustainable menstrual products, conducting menstrual hygiene education, and promoting elimination of menstrual stigma. Menstruation is a right and should not be a barrier to education, health or dignity.

b)Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

We promote inclusive, rights-based sexuality education in schools which results in empowering students with knowledge and confidence to make informed decisions about their bodies, relationships, and wellbeing.

c)Access to SRH Services

Women Students Mentorship Association (WOSWA) promotes youths awareness on sexual reproductive health rights and collaborates with service providers to link young people to youth-friendly, non-judgmental sexual and reproductive health services, including family planning, counselling, and reproductive health information.

d)Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response

Women Students Mentorship Association (WOSWA) advocates for safe learning environments by raising awareness about SGBV. WOSWA provides peer-led support systems and champions survivor-centered response mechanisms, addressing harassment, consent, and violence on campus.
